David Richard to Move to Santa Fe Railyard


David Richard Gallery, at 130 Lincoln Avenue in Santa Fe, will open at 544 South Guadalupe Street on or about May 7, 2012, taking over the space vacated by Gebert Contemporary. (Gebert Contemporary will be consolidating its operations at its headquarters Santa Fe location of 558 Canyon Road.) The moving of David Richard’s gallery location to the Railyards district constitutes an additional exhibition space for the gallery, said David Eichholtz, co-director with Richard Barger of the three-year-old gallery specializing in post-war American art.

David Richard will join James Kelly Contemporary, William Siegal Gallery, Charlotte Jackson Fine Art, and TAI gallery as contemporary art spaces with presence at the Railyard. BOX Gallery has closed. LewAllen Contemporary across from SITE Santa Fe, and Zane-Bennett Gallery at 435 South Guadalupe Street, are other members of the “Last Friday Artwalk” Railyard galleries, which collaborate to host a walk of art gallery openings on the last Friday of every month. (Including tonight, when openings include: Bill Jacobson, Place, at Jim Kelly (550 So. Guadalupe), and George Baselitz/James Drake (prints) at Zane-Bennett Gallery, 435 So. Guadalupe.
